John Deere Mowers - Commercial Grade Equipment

John Deere has put their stamp of quality on the first zero turn mower, the all new Z Trak series. This adds to their collection of front-mounted riding lawn mowers and commercial walk-behind mowers.

Industrial Lawn Mowers

A state of the art front-mounted deck design gives operators the ability to make close cuts due to the increased visibility of the deck. This makes quick work of difficult jobs with overhanging bushes and fence rails.

These monsters come with 20 hp, 624 cc, four stroke, twin cylinder engines from Kohler. They have heavy duty dry type air filters and Nelson silencers. You wouldn't expect anything less than full pressure lubrication and full flow oil filters from John Deere.

The ZTR sports a Hydro Gear hydraulic piston pump for ground drive. John Deere chose a piston type motor for its efficiency advantage over the related gear type motors. The piston pump provides oil flow through a common reservoir to a single, piston type wheel motor.

The ZTR uses steel hydraulic lines to supply a radiant cooling method for the hydraulic oil. This eliminated the need to use an oil cooler.

An operator can choose an infinitely variable speed of 0 to 8.2 mph going forward and 0 to 6 mph in reverse. The lever controls are on either side of the operator's seat and in front. They provide complete control of moving forward, reverse, and turning on a dime.

The mower's blades use a PTO drive shaft system that engages and disengages by a Dana Warner electric clutch which is controlled by a switch on the control console.

Deere designed this mower to make maintenance and service easy. The deck uses a RFS (rotate for service) system which allows a tilt of 90 degrees. After it locks in place, it is easy to access and work on.

Deck sizes on the Z Trak series are 48, 54 and 60 inches in width. Each mower comes with a hood mounted material collection system that holds up to nine bushels.

Husqvarna Lawn Mower - Elite Commercial Machines

Husqvarna lawn mowers are among the best in quality and dependability. You can be assured of the excellence of the Husqvarna name: the company was founded in Sweden in 1689. Not many companies can boast over three hundred years of experience. Husqvarna started with making muskets and progressed through the years to a variety of outdoor equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, riding mowers, snow blowers, and much more. Taking care of your home and your lawn is a commitment that Husqvarna takes seriously. Husqvarna mowers are equal to any challenge and can help you maintain a beautiful and inviting yard.

Industrial Lawn Mowers

Husqvarna lawn mowers come in a variety of styles. There are old school manual mowers, gas or diesel-powered push mowers, solar powered robotic mowers, and most popular, the Husqvarna riding mowers. Before you purchase a Husqvarna mower, ask yourself these questions to make sure you select the right one for your needs:

Industrial Lawn Mowers

o How big is your lawn and what is the layout? Are there lots of obstacles a mower will have to go around? This will help you determine the proper model of mower you will need, and also if you need a riding mower, garden tractor, and so on.

o How often do you mow your lawn? For instance, if you regularly maintain your lawn, you may find the BioClip method most appropriate. The finely cut trimmings are returned to the lawn for fertilizer. For taller or courser grass, you may want a side or rear ejection model.

o Do you want a manual or automatic gear shift?

o Can you easily find Husqnarva mower parts in your area? Being able to easily and quickly replace a damaged or worn out part is essential. (Although, being able to order parts online makes this much easier).

You can also find accessories for your Husqvarna mower, regardless of the model. There are BioClip plugs, collector bags, seed boxes, bagging kits, trimmer attachments, and more.

Husqvarna has been changing and adapting with the needs of homeowners for more than three centuries, all the while keeping the same quality and value. Husqvarna can keep your lawn looking beautiful and save you a lot of frustration with mowing.

Commercial Lawn Mowing Service Equipment For Lawn Care Business Professionals

Lawn mowing companies typically offer a wide range of services. You need to decide exactly what services your company will offer and ensure that you have the skills and equipment to perform those services.

Industrial Lawn Mowers

To be successful in this industry you also have to maximize the productivity of yourself and your crews. Having commercial lawn mowing equipment can help to make your business more productive and more profitable. The right gear can not only help you to get the job done faster but can also help you to preserve your energy.

Industrial Lawn Mowers

In this article we look at some of the equipment that you will need if you decide to start a lawn care business.

The Right Vehicle

It is possible to start out by hauling a push mower around in an SUV. However, in order to carry the volume of gear that is needed to run a professional and productive mowing operation you really need to invest in a trailer or small truck as soon as possible.

One good idea is to decide on your major equipment purchases before you choose a vehicle. You can then check the dimensions of the trailer or truck before you buy to ensure that all your equipment will fit.

Once you have made a purchase consider having some racks installed so that all of your gear can be stored securely and in an organized way. As you will be carrying around a lot of expensive equipment you should also give some thought to security and have an alarm installed.

Lawn Mowers

There are a huge range of lawn mowers available to lawn care professionals. As different kinds of mowers are suited to different lawns some professionals end up buying more than one so that they always have the best lawn mower for the job.

Firstly you have 'walk behind' mowers. These include the basic variety that many people have for doing their own lawns but they also come in larger commercial versions. 'Walk behind' mowers are easy to maneuver and are suitable for most residential lawns. You can purchase a small platform on wheels called a 'velke' that is able to be attached to some commercial 'walk behind' mowers. A velke enables the operator to be pulled along by the mower rather than having to push it.

For larger lawns and commercial contracts you really need a larger ride-on mower to get the job done efficiently. These mowers are best for maximizing productivity on large lawns with relatively flat terrain but are not suited to hills and smaller yards with lots of obstacles. The best 'ride on' mowers are the ZTR (Zero Turn Radius) mowers as they are incredibly easy to maneuver.

Safety Equipment

Depending on your work for the day you may need safety glasses, ear protection, sun block and a pair of steel-toed work boots to protect your feet. Gloves can also help you to get a better grip on equipment handles, particularly when you have sweaty hands.

Other Lawn Mowing Business Equipment

Other lawn mowing business equipment can include a mulching bag (for collecting mown grass and avoiding mess), an edger for neatly finishing off the lawn edges, a good wheelbarrow, a blower (for leaves and grass clippings) and a measuring wheel.

Lawn service companies also have a great opportunity to offer additional home and yard services to customers such as fertilizing, removing leaves, pruning trees and hedges, pressure washing, pest control and simple landscaping jobs. Some of these service can require sophisticated machinery but can also be much more profitable.

Uniforms

To make yourself and your employees look tidy and professional consider having some uniforms made up. A polo shirt and a cap with your business branding on will make a good impression on your clients.

Home Office

Lastly you need to think about setting up some kind of base for your lawn mowing business to operate out of. This will most probably be your home and you will need storage space for equipment as well as a home office set up.

Office Equipment that you will have to consider purchasing will include furniture, a PC and printer, a telephone and answering machine, a photocopier, a fax machine and stationery.

Choosing a Commercial Lawn Mower

A commercial lawn mower has a number of differences from the typical homeowner model. If you're in the market for a commercial mower, whether you're a lawn care professional or just have bigger needs at home, there are several things you need to consider. Let's look at what you should know before making a decision.

Industrial Lawn Mowers

The first thing you'll want to check is whether or not the model you're considering is actually rated as a commercial mower by the manufacturer. If you buy a lawnmower and use it in a commercial setting, such as running your own lawn cutting business, most manufacturers won't cover any warranty issues unless the mower is actually rated for commercial use.

Industrial Lawn Mowers

While some mowers that aren't technically commercial models are more than capable of handling this type of work, if your warranty is void because you're using it that way, it's not worth the gamble. Especially since using a mower in a commercial environment is going to put a lot more stress on it, and the chances of having a problem increase.

The next factor to consider is what kind of mower you need. If you're cutting large playing fields or that type of lawn, you'll likely be looking at a riding mower. Or possibly one of the new zero turn lawn mowers. But if you also cut smaller lawns, a riding mower isn't very efficient. You may need to buy two or more mowers in order to have a solution for any situation you might find yourself cutting in.

The third thing to consider when buying a commercial lawn mower is whether or not the manufacturer specializes in commercial mowers. If the brand you're considering makes two or three commercial models and a whole range of homeowner mowers, you might find that they don't have the same expertise as a company that makes a larger range or even specializes in commercial grade mowers.

Remember that you may not be looking at the same brands as you would for a home mower, so don't be put off by brands that you don't necessarily recognize. Do some research on the brand to find out how reliable they are, but don't move on just because you haven't heard of the brand before.

Hydrostatic Remote Control Lawn Mowers For Steep Hills

Remote Control Lawn Mowers For Slope Mowing Applications
Today's popular zero-turn riding mowers are generally rated to safely handle up to a 30 degree incline without risking injury to the operator. A lawn care professional has to equip 5 or 6 of his crew members with profit eating string trimmers when it comes time to mow a client's slope that is too steep to drive his equipment on. This has always been a problem for the professional lawn care provider as well as state maintenance crews working on the highway DOT (Department of Transportation) crews. With government officials raising the bar on safety regulations regarding slope mowing accidents, hills and banks over 30 degrees are being left unattended along portions of our nation's highways and other government owned properties. Parks and recreation facilities are among some of the other properties affected by the new safety regulations.

Industrial Lawn Mowers

The Summit Lawn Mower Company, based out of New Albany, Mississippi, has a rather new and interesting solution to slope mowing problems with their remote controlled mowers. By placing the operator out of harm's way, safety concerns are not much of an issue. By not having a person on top of the machine, combined with an industrial grade rubber track drive system, commercial models such as the TRX-34PRO are able to acheive a very low center of gravity giving it slope mowing capabilities that are topping out at around 40-50 degrees while remaining practical. I do not expect to see these 34-60 inch robotic machines replacing the massive tractor mowers that the DOT guys need to maintain hundreds of acres along our highways. While their current line of commercial mowers are being used by lawn care professionals in mountain regions world wide, the company plans to release a hydraulic powered industrial line of mowers to cater to large area slope mowing that the state DOT departments just might be interested in.

Industrial Lawn Mowers

Commercial Grade Remote Control Lawn Mowers Affordable For Homeowners
In addition to the track driven remote control lawn mowers only practical for commercial applications, Summit also offers zero-turn wheeled models that are practical for use around the house. Unlike the hydrostatic designs that use the engine for propulsion, these electric powered machines use high torque electric motors for propulsion utilizing an alternator that acts as an on-board generator to keep the battery charged while in use. As with the commercial models, the transmitter has two joysticks. One controls the machine in all directions while the other starts and stops the gas engine. This simple-to-operate design makes the ZTR series mowers popular with the elderly and disabled people who want to rekindle joy and satisfaction sometimes associated with maintaining your own lawn. While the track driven remote control lawn mowers have really impressive slope mowing capabilities, the ZTR series models are limited to being practical on 30 degree slopes due to their front end castor wheel design.

The company also offers a full line of replacement parts and upgrades such as video control, remote\ deck height adjustment, and headlights.
